This guide explains how to set up Nvidia NIM in Aimogen using the unified API key–based configuration. As with all AI providers in Aimogen, there are no enable switches or provider toggles. Entering a valid API key (or endpoint credentials) is what activates Nvidia NIM.

Before configuring Nvidia NIM, make sure you have:

There is no provider enable toggle, no activation button, and no manual model import.
What Happens After Saving the Credentials #
Once the credentials are saved:
- Aimogen automatically validates the connection
- Nvidia NIM becomes an active provider
- Available NIM-backed models are detected dynamically
- Supported models appear in all relevant model dropdowns
Only models compatible with the selected execution type are shown.
Model Availability and Behavior #
Model availability depends on:
- Your Nvidia NIM account and permissions
- The specific endpoint you are connected to
- The models exposed by that endpoint
Aimogen:
- Queries available models automatically
- Filters models by capability (text, chat, streaming, etc.)
- Hides unsupported options
If a model does not appear, it usually means:
- The model is not exposed by your NIM endpoint
- Your account does not have access
- The model does not support the requested execution type
This behavior is expected.

Nvidia NIM is typically used for:

Removing or Rotating Credentials #
If you remove the Nvidia NIM credentials and save:
- Nvidia NIM is immediately disabled
- Its models disappear from selection lists
- Any feature using Nvidia NIM will fall back or stop gracefully
- No content, settings, or data are deleted
You can rotate credentials safely at any time.
Using Nvidia NIM with Other Providers #
Nvidia NIM integrates cleanly into mixed-provider setups.
Common combinations include:
- OpenAI or Claude for content creation
- Nvidia NIM for performance-critical workloads
- Groq for ultra-low-latency chat
- Gemini for multilingual processing
Provider selection can be overridden per feature, chatbot, or workflow step.
